LUMSKEBUGTEN

Lumskebugten is an old Copenhagen classic, known for its elegant style and personality but up through history never famous for smørrebrød. Since 2011 the owner has been iconic chef Erwin Lauterbach, known since the 1970s for his very personal gourmet cuisine, which inspired René Redzepi of Noma.

Smørrebrød was never Erwin Lauterbachs focus, but as he bought the Lumskebugten restaurant, he embraced the old culinary speciality and found success with its inclusion on the menu. He has passed the age of 70, but he still works a full schedule, however not in the smørrebrød division.

This is being run by chef Lisa Premika Gudberg Ballisager, who delivers a quality that matches that of her employer’s cuisine. Through the years Lisa has added her personality to the smørrebrød style of Lumskebugten which is traditional with a modern twist.

Lumskebugten is beautifully situated near the harbour, and the elegantly cosy dining room enjoys lots of daylight. Service is as classic and civilised as the interior decoration.
